Title: The Life of Love ----------------------- Date: 06/12/99

Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

eXXit advertises itself as a web site designed to help you "stand strong in the face of sexual temptation." In Galatians 5:22-23, the apostle Paul lists nine "fruit of the Spirit," fruit that the Holy Spirit produces in the life of the believer. Each of these fruits - if produced - will greatly aid a believer who seeks to "stand strong".

At eXXit, we believe:

that the fruit of the Spirit is produced in the life of a healthy Christian, just as apples appear on a healthy apple tree;

that if there is any love or joy or peace in a Christian, it is ultimately the work of God;

that Christians can cooperate with the Spirit's desire to produce His fruit in their lives by yieldedness, faith, obedience and involvement in ministry.

Passage: Ephesians 5:1-2*

1. Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children

2. and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Questions

1. The text indicates that people can be dearly loved children. This is the realization that the Holy Spirit gives us. Who do these dearly loved children want to imitate?

2. When we live a life of love, who are we trying to imitate?

3. What sacrifices can you make to God because of your being loved?

Practical help

One of the great lessons of the Bible is that in spite of how people have responded to God, He has always loved them. At times when we seem the most un-lovable, God responds to us in love. We are dearly loved children. We respond to this love by imitating God and Christ, who gave us this love to start with.
