Passage: Psalm 32:3-5*

3. When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away
Through my groaning all day long.

4. For day and night Thy hand was heavy upon me;
My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer.

5. I acknowledged my sin to Thee, And my iniquity I did not hide;
I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord"; And Thou didst forgive the guilt of my sin.

Questions

1.. What happens to us physically when we know we have sinned but don’t do anything about it?

2. How does the situation change when we stop trying to hide our sin and willingly confess it to the Lord?

Practical help

I can remember taking a summer vacation trip as a kid across the western desert in a car without air conditioning. The heat was so stifling that none of us could even move. Every bit of energy was drained out of us. Relief came with cooler evening air and a climb over a high mountain pass.

Not dealing with our sins related to porn use — lust, sexual fantasy, mental fornication and adultery — leaves us in a serious life-depleting situation. This happens for two reasons. First, God’s hand is “heavy” upon us to bring us to the point of acknowledging the sins. Second, sin is so destructive in our lives that keeping silent about it simply drains us of all vitality.

What’s the solution? Confess your sins and struggles with Web porn to God. You will find forgiveness and healing. Are you wasting away? Don’t hold on to it any longer. Give it up, and acknowledge it before Him now.

It could be that you have never known God’s love and forgiveness before today. Jesus Christ, God’s Son, willingly gave His life as a sacrifice so your sexual (and all other) sins could be forgiven. Click here if you are interested in knowing Jesus personally.
