For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10. so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; Questions 1. What was the request that the Apostle Paul made of God for these readers?   2. How did he expect God’s answer to change their lives?   Practical help It’s interesting to see that Paul didn’t ask that God would help these readers to live righteously. Instead he prayed that God would give them full “knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.” The result in them would be a growing personal knowledge of God and a life characterized by righteousness and fruit bearing. Have you ever considered that being filled with the knowledge of God’s will would naturally make your life fruitful? Of course a porn habit robs us of any fruit-bearing, and the eye filled with smut has a hard time being focused on God’s will or spiritual things in general. As God works to draw you to Himself and provide you with some critical knowledge, there is hope for change in your life. Knowing the truth — the good things that He has reserved for you, — will serve to capture your heart. Porn will lose its power and grip on your life. This is my prayer for you today, that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
