Questions

1. What does this verse mean?

2. How can its message help us resist temptation?

Practical help

C.S. Lewis likened the afterlife to the kind of place our appetites would prefer if left to their own devices.

For instance, if we choose lust — via pornography — again and again, then our afterlife would be a place far from the glory of God, populated by people who exist on only spent sin. In other words, hell.

But if we channel our sex drives into godly expressions, our afterlife would be an extension of the good life we've chosen here on earth. In other words, heaven.

Think of it this way: Where would you like to go when you grow up? Live that way now.
