In biblical times the word “heart” came to stand for a person’s entire mental and moral activity, or rational and emotional elements. In essence it means the hidden springs of the personal life. It means the emotions, the reason and the will.

Everything in life proceeds from the heart. As human beings and followers of Christ, our enjoyment of life and fruitfulness are determined by the condition of our heart. No wonder God admonishes us to guard it attentively and meticulously. His desire is for us to experience a joyful life.

Pornography is poison for our heart. The heart’s life giving springs dry up under the influence of porn. Consider the condition of your heart right now. How has porn use left you? Has it left your life more vibrant and fruitful? Has it been a source of joy and has it improved your relationships with others?

Guard your heart today, friend. Stand strong in the Lord’s grace in full assurance of his love and care for you.
