And He will make them know His covenant..

Questions

1. What does it mean to you to fear the Lord?

2. What things are promised to those who fear Him?

3. Has God shared any secrets with you lately?

Practical help

In this age of tolerance the idea that a person should fear God runs counter to popular thinking. Somehow, the people of our time prefer a more benign image of God. Nonetheless, the Bible speaks of a God who is to be feared and explicitly attributes great blessing to those who do fear Him.

One biblical definition of the fear of the Lord is the idea of having a love for God on one hand and a hatred for evil on the other. (See Proverbs 8:13) Another way to look at it would be to hold God in a place of reverence and awe because of His power and holiness.

So, what are the promised benefits? Those who fear the Lord will:

1. Be lead by Him in the correct paths

2. Enjoy prosperity of soul

3. Receive insight into the secret things of God

4. Know the blessings of His promises

Growth in a healthy fear of the Lord is a great deterrent to the habitual use of Web porn. You don’t need to settle for the emptiness and leanness of soul it produces.
