Questions 1. What do you want most?   2. Will that thing that you want really satisfy?   Practical help We tend to have a lot of wants and desires in life. Our hearts seem to be drawn toward those things that in some way promise comfort or security. These might be material things like houses or clothes or cars. They might also be nonmaterial things such as power, recognition, acceptance or pleasure of some kind. The problem is that these things can only deliver a temporary satisfaction at best. Web porn fits into this category of things. Fortunately for us, we have a loving Father in heaven who does meet all needs (and often our wants and desires, too) in ways that truly satisfy in the deepest places of our hearts. He has given us eternal comfort and security by grace through His Son, Jesus Christ. As we grow in this truth, the temporary satisfaction that these lesser things promise begins to lose its grip on our hearts. Our desire for the eternal — for God Himself — intensifies. Today, if you are assaulted by the temptation to find comfort or security in pornography, remember that it will leave you wanting more, but never truly satisfy your need. Only the Eternal One can do that. May He be your strength.
