Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

eXXit advertises itself as a Web site designed to help you "stand strong in the face of sexual temptation." In Galatians 5:22-23, the apostle Paul lists nine "fruit of the Spirit," fruit that the Holy Spirit produces in the life of the believer. Each of these fruits — if produced — will greatly aid a believer who seeks to "stand strong."

At eXXit, we believe that:

The fruit of the Spirit is produced in the life of a healthy Christian, just as apples appear on a healthy apple tree.

If there is any love or joy or peace in a Christian, it is ultimately the work of God.

Christians can cooperate with the Spirit's desire to produce His fruit in their lives by yieldedness, faith, obedience and involvement in ministry.

We hope you enjoy and benefit from these meditations on Galatians 5! Send us any feedback. We'd love to know what you think.

Passage: 2 Peter 1:5-8*

5. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;

6. and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;

7. and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.

8. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Questions

1. What role does kindness play in the development of Christian character?

2. How can kindness help us fight Web porn?

Practical help

Peter links kindness with something that concerns all believers: effectiveness and productivity in our faith. Without this crucial link in the chain, the understanding of God we desire is undermined.

This interconnectedness means that even something as seemingly insignificant as kindness plays a part in our struggle against Web porn. Though apparently unrelated, kindness can combine with other virtues that shield us from the folly we should experience.

To put it into practice, start doing small acts of kindness for your family, friends and co-workers. Maybe it’s playing catch with your son. Or helping your buddy move. Or getting a cup of coffee for an associate. As far-fetched as it may sound, these acts of kindness could give you the little extra help you need to resist that next alluring Web site.

You have Peter’s word on it.
