Welcome
to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand
strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Passage:
Matthew 28:18-20 *
18. And Jesus came up and
spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given
to Me in heaven and on earth.
19. "Go therefore and make
disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and the Son and the Holy
Spirit,
20. "teaching them to observe
all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you
always, even to the end of the age.''
Questions
1. This three-verse
passage, one of the best known in the New Testament,
is one of the few texts that is so familiar that it is
informally "named." It is known simply as "The Great
Commission." What is Jesus commissioning His disciples
to do here?
2. Are you His disciple? (The
prerequisite to becoming His disciple is to become a
child of God through faith in Jesus. To find out more
about becoming a Christian, click
here.) How does The
Great Commission relate to you, personally?
3. Are you actively engaged in
fulfilling The Great Commission? If not, why
not?
Practical
help
For Christians struggling
with porn: Are you so ashamed of your smut habit that
you can't heed The Great Commission?
Viewing porn dirties souls and
consciences, leading to a diminished, self-absorbed
life. Just think of the freedom you would have to
pursue evangelism and disciplemaking if you weren't
shackled to the secret world of Internet porn. Just
think of the souls you could be reaching for Jesus and
the difference you could make for eternity if you
weren't bound up with your habit.
At eXXit, we're always
suggesting reasons to avoid pornography. Here's one
from Matthew 28:18-20: You'll be better able to carry
out Jesus' final marching orders if you keep your life
clean. Keep that in mind the next time you're tempted
to click on to "that" site.
