Practical help
Every man (and woman) alive is tempted to sin! Temptations come in various sizes and shapes, and we are all tempted by different impulses. Among the most pernicious temptations of our age is that of pornography. With the advent of the Internet, access to porn has become instant, cheap and anonymous - a deadly combination.
But the Bible offers counsels that brings real potential for standing strong in the face of this sexual onslaught. If you want the ugliness of porn out of your life (and this may sound scary), tell someone.
If you are a man, tell a brother; if a woman, tell a sister. Widen the circle to two or three and ask them to ask you, regularly, "How goes the battle?" Their "encouragement" (see the verse) may sometimes come in the form of gentle assurance, and at other times in the form of harsh rebuke. But the loving engagement of a friend in Christ is one of the most powerful weapons in your arsenal for fighting porn.
Take advantage of this weapon and you’ll be spared the destructive deceitful effects of sin.
