Question
What does "shade at your
right hand" mean in Psalms 121:5 above?
Practical
help
Tired from resisting Web
porn? Not tired of, tired from?
Standing strong against
temptation can fatigue the best of us, no matter how
committed we are to righteousness.
It's good to know that God has
shady rest spots along the journey places not
far from the battle but well out of harm's way. What
and where are these oases?
The what is the Bible,
and the where is anyplace you can read a verse
or two from it, such as at a coffee house or park.
Don't think of Scripture just as an ammo source
(which, of course, it is) against the enemy but as a
cool "retreat from the heat."
And don't worry about the battle
overtaking you while you rest. The same verse that
promises "shade at your right hand" (Psalms 121:5
above) assures your protection while you rest: "The
Lord watches over you."
So don't give up the battle;
take a break from it in the shade of God's
Word.
