Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

eXXit advertises itself as a Web site designed to help you "stand strong in the face of sexual temptation." In Galatians 5:22-23, the apostle Paul lists nine "fruit of the Spirit," fruit that the Holy Spirit produces in the life of the believer. Each of these fruits — if produced — will greatly aid a believer who seeks to "stand strong."

At eXXit, we believe that:

The fruit of the Spirit is produced in the life of a healthy Christian, just as apples appear on a healthy apple tree.

If there is any love or joy or peace in a Christian, it is ultimately the work of God.

Christians can cooperate with the Spirit's desire to produce His fruit in their lives by yieldedness, faith, obedience and involvement in ministry.

We hope you enjoy and benefit from these meditations on Galatians 5! Send us any feedback. We'd love to know what you think.

Passage: Daniel 6:1-4*

1. It seemed good to Darius to appoint 120 satraps over the kingdom, that they should be in charge of the whole kingdom,

2. and over them three commissioners (of whom Daniel was one), that these satraps might be accountable to them, and that the king might not suffer loss.

3. Then this Daniel began distinguishing himself among the commissioners and satraps because he possessed an extraordinary spirit, and the king planned to appoint him over the entire kingdom.

4. Then the commissioners and satraps began trying to find a ground of accusation against Daniel in regard to government affairs; but they could find no ground of accusation or {evidence of} corruption, inasmuch as he was faithful, and no negligence or corruption was {to be} found in him.

Questions

1. According to the passage above, it appears that Daniel was a trustworthy (or faithful) individual. Otherwise, he would not have been appointed to such a high position in Darius’ government. Have you known people you would describe as trustworthy? What distinguished them as being worthy of your trust?

2. Verse 4 (above) indicates what defines a person as “faithful.” What do you find in this verse that helps you get a handle on the meaning of faithfulness?

Practical help

Daniel’s faithfulness was seen in this: No negligence or corruption was to be found in him. Even when he was followed around by private investigators, they couldn’t find any dirt on him. Who he was in public, he was in private.

One of the graces that the Holy Spirit produces in Christians is the important character trait called “faithfulness.” Among other things, faithfulness speaks of dependability — or trustworthiness. You can rely on faithful people to be the same in private that they are in public.

An active, growing faith in Jesus produces faithfulness, and it makes living with pornography a very unappealing option. People seeking to live for the Lord don’t want any unfaithfulness in their lives. They don't want glaring inconsistencies in their moral lives.

Let’s remember how badly we want to be trustworthy — like Daniel was. In the moment of temptation, trust the Lord. Your faithfulness quotient rises with each successful stand.
