Passage: Mark 10:13-16*
13. Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.
15. "Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."
16. And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them.
Questions
1. Who protected you when you were a child?
2. If you could keep a child from being molested, would you do it? Why?
Practical help
The greatest test of a society is what it does to protect the innocent and weak. This is more important than personal freedoms. Yet pornography encourages exploitation of the weak and the once innocent for the pleasure of the selfish.
The computer insolates the viewer from the abuse he or she condones. This gives the false impression that the viewer is innocent in whatever violence or abuse they might witness. Is this too harsh an accusation?
If you choose to view it means you condone the activity. You are glad it's there so you can see it for the sexual stimulation you derive. Your stimulation, therefore, is more important than the exploitation you are viewing.
Another proof that viewers condone the pornography is because they are the revenue source for the pimps who manage the websites. No viewers, no profit.
Now contrast the selfishness of porn with the heart of God. His love for children means that heaven is a very safe place. If you identify yourself as one of His followers, then you must live a life that makes the world around you as safe as heaven for the little ones He loves. This is what you pray every time you say in the Lord's Prayer, "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10)
