Practical help
A friend of mine almost lost his job over a Web porn habit. He logged onto X-rated sites at work, and the network administrator turned him in. My friend received a reprimand from his boss. Now he calls the experience one of the best things that ever happened to him. He dates the beginning of the end of his Web porn addiction to that day.
The psalmist reminds us that God refines us through trials. Sometimes we bring them on ourselves through perverse actions. For instance, Web porn leads to the natural consequences of a seared conscience, fractured relationships and a tighter embrace of the abyss.
Instead of ignoring these consequences, let them instruct you. God wants to chasten you to righteousness, to transform you into a beautiful vessel for service. Don't ignore his message.
