Passage: Psalm 1:1-3*
1. How blessed is the man who does not walk in the
counsel of the wicked,
or stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit
in the seat of scoffers!
2. But his delight is in the law of
the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3. And
he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which
yields its fruit in its season,
And its leaf does not
wither;
And in whatever he does, he
prospers.

person's life?

loves God's Word?
Practical help
A contrast exists between the life of the God
follower and the follower of those who pursue unrighteousness. These
first three verses of the psalm highlight the fruitful focus of the
God follower. He is blessed by God!
The mind of the God
follower is focused on God's truth. It occupies his thoughts day and
night. This is what the God follower chooses to set the focus of his
thoughts on. What does his chosen focus yield? A fruitful and
prosperous life — the picture of contentment.
The mind focused
on smut will also yield a certain kind of fruit, but it will not be
the kind of life described in verse three. Choose to fix your mind on
God's word today and allow yourself to delight in it. Take steps
toward experiencing the kind of life that comes from a fruitful focus.
Don't let porn continue to steal away your
blessedness.
