Passage:
John 17:24-26*
24. "Father, I want those
you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see
my glory, the glory you have given me because you
loved me before the creation of the world.
25. "Righteous Father, though
the world does not know you, I know you, and they know
that you have sent me.
26. I have made you known to
them, and will continue to make you known in order
that the love you have for me may be in them and that
I myself may be in them.
Questions
1. Where is Jesus now?
2. What does Jesus desire as the
outcome of his ministry?
Practical
help
For the last six days
we've been looking at Jesus' prayer at the Last
Supper. If you're coming in at the end, you might want
to look at the previous studies to get the background.
Here Jesus sums up the essence of his prayer. His
purpose is to bridge the gap between man and God. He
came to earth so that the hidden nature of God could
be made known to us. The nature of God is love in its
purest form. That love is available to all as a result
of what Jesus did at the cross. His glory is in his
love, and that glory is also the glory of all who call
on his name.
If you are tired of the games
that this world likes to play, and longing to know a
glorious, joyous life, you can find it in Jesus. Get
to know him through his Word, and through the power of
his Holy Spirit, a power that is greater than all your
sin.
