Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: Romans 8:35-39*

35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36. Just as it is written,

"For Thy sake we are being put to death all day long;
We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered."

37. But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

38. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

39. nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Questions

1. Who or what will ever separate you from God’s love?

2. Will God stop loving you because you are struggling with sexual temptation or sin?

Practical help

A foundational truth for us to stand upon is that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Not even a long running struggle with porn. God’s love for us in Christ is greater!

The Bible tells us that God is constantly thinking about us and that these thoughts are immeasurable, even as many as the sands of the sea. His plans and thoughts for us are always filled with hope. He sees the end from the beginning and all points in between. Because we are now in Christ Jesus, God the Father sees you and me as eternally loved possessions that He sought after and delights in. We will never be separated from His love.

Friend, rejoice in that, and take heart as you feel tempted today. Consider God’s great and enduring love for you, and stand strong as a new creation in Christ.
