Welcome
to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand
strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Passage:
John
15:15*
No longer do I call you
slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is
doing; but I have called you friends, for all things
that I have heard from My Father I have made known to
you.
Questions
1. What does it mean to be
a friend of Jesus?
2. How does He prove His
friendship with us?
3. What are some of the benefits
we receive as friends of Jesus?
Practical
help
God now sees you and me as
friends. Imagine that! We cannot take any credit for
this friendship since it is entirely based on His
grace and love for us. We could never earn His
friendship; He simply considers us in this light
because as believers we are now in Christ.
In the daily battle against porn
and sexual temptation, Jesus is our constant and close
friend. He is always present and here with us to help
and give strength when we need help.
This friendship carries some
amazing eternal benefits. Here are three:
1. Peace
Therefore having
been justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans
5:1*).
2. Unconditional
forgiveness
In Him we have
redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of
our trespasses, according to the riches of His
grace, which He lavished upon us (Ephesians
1:7-8*).
3. Made us holy and
blameless
And although you
were formerly alienated and hostile in mind,
engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled
you in His fleshly body through death, in order
to present you before Him holy and blameless and
beyond reproach. (Colossians 1:21-22*).
Rejoice in the fact that Jesus
calls you friend, and take heart as you feel tempted
today. Consider the eternal benefits that are yours
because you have placed your trust in
Jesus.
