Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Is Jesus serious about the need to avoid lust? In another three-minute study, we looked at his teachings in Matthew 5:27-28. Today we pick up with the next verse.

Passage: Matthew 5:29*

"If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell."

Questions

1. Jesus had just talked about looking lustfully at a woman, and he now indicates that this activity is what?

2. How seriously did Jesus take the issue of lust?

3. Can you see how web porn is a serious matter?

4. What are the consequences of web porn in your life?

Practical help

How can you avoid it?

1. Ask God to help you say no to pornography.

2. Consider the consequences of pornography in your life, and decide whether they are worth it.

3. Find a trustworthy friend to help you avoid pornography.
