Here's
a classic Bible passage describing temptation. Read it,
then answer the short questions. Consider the practical
suggestions at the end of the study. Passage:
Proverbs
7:6-10 (New International Version)* 7. I saw
among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a
youth who lacked judgment. 8. He was
going down the street near her corner, walking along
in the direction of her house 9. at
twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night
set in. 10. Then
out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a
prostitute and with crafty intent. Questions 2. How
are these actions similar to those that lead people to
Internet pornography? 3. What
can the youth do to avoid further
entrapment? 4. What
are two steps you can do right now to escape web
porn? Practical
help 2.
Then ask him to help you focus on avoiding that
one step. 3.
Avoid looking downstream at what would have
been subsequent steps to the temptation. Just
focus on the next step. 4. Then
step back. Many people
like you have stepped back with God's help.
They're cheering you on to do likewise. You can do
it!

6.
At the window of my house I looked out through the
lattice.
1.
What actions led the youth to cross paths with the
prostitute?
The path
to Internet pornography is not a slippery slope. It's
a series of steps that can be interrupted at any time.
If you're on the path to web porn (whether for the
first time or a return visit), you can reverse course
right now. How?
1.
Ask God to help you identify the next
step leading to the current temptation.
