How many of these lusts affect young people?   Practical help Webster's Dictionary defines lust as, among other things, "sexual desires" or a "sexual appetite." Certainly there are other kinds of lust, but sexual cravings are almost synonymous with the word. Because we are bombarded with graphic images as we mature, lust cannot be avoided, especially with young people. Now it's not wrong to have sexual desires — as long as they're pure. How to tell? • When we attempt to obey God, we are seeking righteousness. • When we trust that Jesus died on the cross to save us from death and free us from being slaves to our lusts, we are living by faith. • When we choose what is best for others even when it means we give up our own rights in the process, we are living under love. • When we allow God to clean up our lives including our lust for porn, we discover a peace that passes understanding.
