7. I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who lacked
judgment.
8. He was going down the street near her corner, walking along in the direction
of her house
9. at twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night set in.
10. Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty
intent.
Questions
1. Apparently, the youth was alone before meeting the prostitute. Why?
2. How does "aloneness" figure in someone's decision to visit a porn
web site?
3. What could the youth do to avoid being alone as he walked?
4. If you're alone and tempted to visit a porn web site, what can you do right
now to change your "aloneness"?
Practical help
You can decide whether to be alone or contact godly friends when tempted by web porn.
If you're alone and thinking about jumping to a porn web site, consider these steps:
1. Make a list of trustworthy friends you can contact right now (via phone,
e-mail or visits) in order to overcome "aloneness."
2. Contact two of these friends. Ask them to help you steer away from web junk
(if you have the courage, acknowledge that the "junk" is porn).
3. Ask God to motivate you to contact your friends at once.
4. Soon, establish fixed times for recreational computer use, then resolve with
God's grace to contact one or two friends before and after such use for the sake of
accountability.
With God's grace, many people like you have overcome "aloneness" to
resist web porn. They're cheering you on to do likewise. You can do it!
