It's axiomatic that you
don't get something for nothin'. Same with victory
over porn.
True, standing strong takes
grace, a free gift from God. But victory also takes
wisdom — smart decisions of the will backed up by
hard work.
If you struggle with smut, are
you willing to work hard to break the habit? Some
actions to consider:
1. Praying frequently
with a godly friend who holds you accountable
before Scripture.
2. Subscribing to
porn-blocking Internet service
providers.
3. Arranging your computer
schedule so that you're not online during times of
day when you're most vulnerable to smut (e.g., late
at night).
4. Soaking up Scripture daily
(reading, meditating, and/or
memorizing).
The above steps may appear
simple, but they require hard work and stamina to pull
off over the long haul.
If you're willing to apply
yourself to these and similar steps, then the
Scripture above will come true with regard to your
porn struggles: You "will prosper and be
satisfied."
