Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

With this study, we take a third look at a short passage in the book of Job.

Passage: Job 31:1-4 (New International Version*)

1. I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl.

2. For what is man's lot from God above, his heritage from the Almighty on high?

3. Is it not ruin for the wicked, disaster for those who do wrong?

4. Does he not see my ways and count my every step?

Questions

1. How often do you come within one mouse click of entering a porn site and base your next move on something like this: "Nobody but me knows, and God probably isn't paying attention"?

2. When it's two in the morning, and the office door is closed, and everyone else is asleep, and you're being really quiet, who knows which web sites you visit? Who counts every mouse click?

3. If you were sure that God counted and cared about every mouse click, how could that affect the paths you choose?

Practical help

The Bible says that God knows and sees all. Today's study passage is just one example. Another is Psalm 33:13-15 (New International Version*).
13. From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;

14. from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth —

15. he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.

It's clear that God is paying attention, but why? To punish you? No! Because He loves you. He wants you to make the right choices. In fact, He will empower you to make them if you'll trust Him to. If you're not sure how to trust Him, surf to "Not a Christian or Are Unsure?".
