Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Introduction: For the next several Bible studies, we'll visit the book written by James, half brother to Jesus. James writes about temptation to sin in chapter 1, beginning at verse 13.

Passage: James 1:13*

Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.

Questions

1. What does the verse say to you about the nature of God?

2. What might this verse say to someone who is struggling with Internet porn?

3. If you are struggling with the temptation to be involved with pornography and want to be free from its stranglehold, what do you see in this verse that will strengthen you to resist that temptation?

Thought for the day

God is good! He is not the kind of a God who will tempt you to sin to see if you can resist. He will have nothing to do with sin Himself and doesn't put temptation to sin before you.
