Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. 10. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Question What does it mean to be insulted because of Jesus?   Practical help In verse 11 above, Jesus says that you're blessed if you take grief on account of him. What could he mean? And how might his comment encourage porn strugglers? Christ's superhuman power helps many people forsake smut. This is bad news for porn peddlers, who depend on Web traffic for revenue. In reprisal, these hucksters accuse Christ's followers of opposing free speech, creative freedom, etc. These shrill charges, false as they are, prove one thing: Deliverance from porn is actually taking place, and truth be known, on a worldwide scale, the power of Christ being boundless and unstoppable. So if the world insults you for following Christ, it's because he's succeeding in delivering you from its wares and woes, including porn.
