Passage: Proverbs 9:4-6* 2. [Wisdom] has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table. 3. She has sent out her maids, and she calls from the highest point of the city. 4. "Let all who are simple come in here!" she says to those who lack judgment. 5. "Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed. 6. Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of understanding. Question Who are the "simple" mentioned in verse 4 above?   Practical help Wisdom is still calling out (see yesterday's study). But to whom? According to verse 4 above, she's calling out to "all who are simple." This is a bittersweet passage to us porn strugglers. To answer Wisdom's call in this passage, we have to admit to being simple. Ugh. Who wants to be that humble? On the other hand, confessing our simple, foolish ways (like porn habits) helps us swallow our pride, which hinders many of us from admitting a need for help. So if we want to leave our simple ways (porn) and live (stand strong against temptation), we need to be humble. And if we humbly admit our porn struggle, Wisdom promises that soon enough we will live and "walk in [not just know about] the way of understanding" — including victory over smut.
