How to do this study: Read the following Bible passage, then answer the short questions. Consider the practical suggestions at the end of the study.

Passage: Proverbs 7:9-12 (New International Version*)

 9. at twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night set in.

10. Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.

11. (She is loud and defiant, her feet never stay at home;

12. now in the street, now in the squares, at every corner she lurks.)

Questions

1. What were the time of day and level of lighting when the youth encountered the prostitute?

2. Considering these factors, what were the youth's physical and mental conditions (degree of fatigue, visual perception, mental alertness, etc.) at the time of the encounter?

3. How are these conditions similar to your computer environment when you surf to a porn Web site?

4. What can you change about the time and place you choose for recreational computer use?

Practical help

You can control your computer use — and escape the lure of Web porn. If you're thinking about jumping to a porn site, consider these steps:
1. Ask God to help you spot things you can change right now in your recreational computer use (turn up the room lights, splash cold water on your face to increase your alertness, or turn off the computer until you're rested and alert).

2. Ask God to help you do these things right now.

With God's grace, many people like you have changed their recreational computer environment to resist Web porn. They're cheering you on to do likewise. You can do it!
