Passage: Matthew 4:18-22*

18. And walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

19. And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."

20. And they immediately left the nets, and followed Him.

21. And going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them.

22. And they immediately left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

Questions

1. Do you often find yourself in a state of "idleness" and totally bored out of your head?

2. Are these the times when you're easily tempted by porn and particularly susceptible to it?

Practical help

Who am I, and why am I here?

These questions have been around for a while, and we could delve into some pretty heavy philosophy and only scratch the surface of an answer.

So, what's wrong with doing that? Well, nothing much except that we'd be straying from our purpose — to provide a short, pointed, quick to load, easy to read, three-minute Bible study.

Just like here at eXXit we have a defined purpose to our ministry, we as individuals generally need a defined purpose in our everyday life.

Look over the passage above and see if Jesus was offering any purpose to those He was calling. Today, think about purpose in your life: Do you have it? What is it?

Tomorrow we'll explore how there's progress to be found in purpose.
