Has stress brought on by the visual images you have seen over the past few days coming from New York and Washington DC caused you to desire viewing porn as a form of comfort?   2. If so, have you gained any insight into why this might have occurred?   Practical help We feel helpless at times in the face of graphic violence. This is especially true when the violence is real and extreme. It is a normal response to wish to run from it, but there are right and wrong places to hide. In God’s love we are safe. The counterfeit "love" of viewing porn images will ultimately take its toll on our ability to feel for the real people in our lives. (This is not to say the people whose pictures you see aren’t real, they are very real and no doubt suffer greatly in their circumstances). We are human and we have physical needs but God has provided healthy avenues for meeting them. Instead of robbing someone in order to buy food, we are instructed to work (see Ephesians 4:28). Sexual fulfillment has a particular healthy context as well.
