Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Read the following Bible passage, then answer the short questions. Consider the observations at the end of the study.

Passage A: James 1:5-8*

5. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

6. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

7. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord;

8. he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

Passage B: Hebrews 12:1*

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Questions

1. Do you sometimes feel frustrated that God does not seem to answer your questions and address your problems?

2. Reread verse 6. Have you settled in your mind to approach God as being all He declares He is (the essence of love, perfect, almighty, etc.), or is God like a vapor to you?

3. Do you see your life and problems as bigger than God?

4. From Hebrews 12:1, who is watching your every move besides God?

5. In light of the fact that your life is the focus of a heavenly fan club of people from the past rooting for your success, what does this verse tell us to do?

Observations

When you engage in the sin of pornography, the mind God gave you is being filled with erotic images that distract your focus from the race you are called to run. It really is not a secret when we sin, even in private. Your heavenly fan club knows and cares.
