The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD?"

Based on this verse how much value should we place on our abilities?

 

Practical help

British author G.K. Chesterton once wrote that modernity had inverted proper values: People now believe in themselves, not in absolute truths. The passage from Exodus amplifies this message: We should credit God for our abilities, not fear failure.

This hopeful message applies to our struggles against pornography. Granted, we can't overcome temptation on our own. But God has given us the ability to succeed — a massive confidence boost. When we overcome, let's remember to give him the glory.
