No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Practical help
Sometimes 1 Corinthians 10:13 seems more like fantasy than reality. As practiced partakers in pornography, we might wonder, "Oh yeah? Where was my way out on Thursday night? Or Saturday morning? Or ...."
A little context helps here. Paul wrote this letter in the first century to believers living in Corinth, Greece. At one point, the temple of Aphrodite there employed 1,000 sacred prostitutes. How bad was Corinth? The Greek verb "to Corinthianize" came to mean "to practice sexual immorality." And we think we've got it tough.
Into this cesspool comes Paul's ringing affirmation of self-control. The next verse provides one avenue of escape for us: "Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry" (verse 14). Updated to our times, we might say, "Run from Web porn." Turn off your computer or avoid the Web or install a smut-blocker like Net Nanny or ....
Ways of escape exist. We must only take them.
