Practical help

First things first: I'm not pushing cold showers. A purely physical response to an spiritual issue like pornography seems doomed to failure. (Still, if cold showers work for you, keep them going.) Likewise, a spiritual problem seems to call for a spiritual solution. But how?

Consider this analogy: A glass jar filled with large rocks may look full — until your pour in small rocks ... and sand ... and water. The point? Pack your life with the raw materials of the spiritual life, such as prayer, Scripture, fellowship and worship. Stuffed with the good, how will you find time for porn?

Someone might say, "Porn is my water, slipping in the cracks of my life." Replace it with living water, more of a spiritual discipline that you could use. Love would be a sensible place to start.
