Practical help
If you have a problem with Web porn, how many
people have you honestly told about it? Our tendency is to hide our
areas of weakness and failure. This could be for a variety of reasons.
Most often it's because we are ashamed and don't want others to see
that side of us. In other cases it may be we are too proud to admit we
have a problem that we can't control.
Whatever our reasons may
be for keeping a porn habit hidden, we need to recognize the cover-up
as falsehood and deceit. Bringing it out of hiding and into the open
may well be the first step to enjoying lasting victory over sexual
temptation.
As brothers or as sisters in Christ, we have access
to great resources for encouragement, help and accountability as we
face our own battles with smut. We are members of the same family and
it is a family founded upon grace. Others will understand your
struggle and they will help. Be courageous and lay aside the falsehood
of a hidden porn habit. Bring it out in the open by telling someone
who can help.
