Passage: Proverbs 5:11-14*

11. At the end of your life you will groan, when your flesh and body are spent.

12. You will say, "How I hated discipline! How my heart spurned correction!

13. I would not obey my teachers or listen to my instructors.

14. I have come to the brink of utter ruin in the midst of the whole assembly."

Question

When was the last time you said “If I knew then what I know now....,” and why did you say it?

Practical help

Truth is, most of us already know the catastrophic effect porn viewing will some day wreak on us. Namely, broken relationships, shame, even public humiliation.

The passage above invites us to consider such foreknowledge — while it's still foreknowledge.

Ask: "Is porn viewing worth the consequences?" If not, why not stop the habit now?

Powerless to stop? Think harder about the impending consequences. Maybe, at some point, you'll get the message. You'll hear yourself "groan, when your flesh and body are spent."

Point being, keep thinking through the outcomes of your behavior.
