strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Passage:
John 6:35*
Then Jesus declared, "I am the
bread of life. He who comes to me will never go
hungry, and he who believes in me will never be
thirsty"
Question
1. What do Jesus' words
mean?
2. How might these words apply
to our battles with Web porn?
Practical
help
While Jesus words may sound
familiar, the implications are downright
revolutionary. They so incensed his first-century
listeners that they threatened to kill him. If we
merely yawn and move on, we miss the point.
The point is this: Christ claims
to provide sustenance for our deepest longings. If
that doesn't sound incredible, imagine what would
happen if everyone took him at his word: No more
12-step groups. No more kleptomaniacs. No more
workaholics. And no more Web porn.
Ask Jesus to back up his words.
Ask him to so satisfy your hunger so that you no
longer crave pornographic sustenance. He will keep his
promise.
