Passage: Ecclesiastes 5:1* Guard your steps as you go to the house of God, and draw near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools; for they do not know they are doing evil. Questions 1. Do you think God wants us to make "deals" with him?   2. Are you trying to "deal" with God about a porn problem?   Practical help How many times have you made a deal with God? We often mean well when we make a vow like "God, I promise I'll never surf to that porn site again if you'll just make sure my spouse doesn't find out that I've been there before." It can get real rough when we find out (and we always do) that God's not in the deal business. We begin to wonder if He really cares about us or whether He listens when we plead with him. Solomon's advice in today's passage is better than any deal you can dream up. If you've recognized it's time to make a change then go to God with your mouth zipped and your ears wide open. You've already proved the results of your plan. Isn't it time to listen to God's plan. Remember, He's not in the deal business.
