Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: Romans 12:2 *

2 Do not be conformed to this world

Note: In the Phillips translation this passage reads:

2 Don't let the world around you squeeze you into its mold.

Questions

1. Paul indicates that there is a way the world expects us to live that is different from the way God expect His people to live. Can you think of some arenas of life where Christians are to show a demonstrable difference from their world?

2. When you read the words "conformity" and "squeeze you into its mold," what images come to your mind? Are these the words that you want to describe your life? If they are not, what words would you use to describe the powerful, free life you envision leading?

Practical help

Many people in our world see nothing wrong with viewing Internet pornography. HOWEVER, looking at sexually explicit images of women's bodies (or anyone else's bodies, for that matter) on the computer screen feeds lust, destroys innocence, distorts a reverence for the human body - and more. The world advertises the freedom that comes with giving unbridled vent to our passions, including looking at pornography. Romans 12:2, though, tells us that such activity is actually confining and shackling. It is the oldest trick in the book and the world's typical squeeze play - promise freedom and deliver bondage. Playing with worldliness is a dead end street. Remember that the next time you are tempted to click to a sexually explicit web site. If it is freedom you want, walk away!
