Passage: Proverbs 23:18*

There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

Questions

1. What does this verse promise?

2. How can that help you right now?

Practical help

Author C.S. Lewis often asked his readers to try to imagine time from God's perspective: no past, no present, no future. To the creator of time, all of time is now.

Lewis' view can help us understand Proverbs 23:18. The verse says "your hope will not be cut off." But for believers stuck in time, glimpses of heaven often pale in comparison to the urgency of pornography. The lesson: Take a step back. Try to pull yourself out of the heat of temptation to see your struggle as God sees it, a small sacrifice in the grand scheme of creation.

Your destination is glory. Spend your time imagining it, not your cravings for porn.
