Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: Hebrews 3:13*

But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Questions

1. How often should we encourage one another?

2. What can encouragement do for us and others?

3. Why is this so important to God?

Practical help

Another of God’s great gifts to us as Christians is one another — other Christians. He joins us with other believers so we can be encouraged and so that we can encourage others. We all need it! Encouraging others is love with feet on it. It’s not optional! This issue is so important that God mentions it many times in His Word.

Encouragement can take on many forms, and it’s good if we can learn to listen well to the Holy Spirit’s leading to be creative and effective in the ways we encourage people. We must encourage others according to their needs, not ours.

Encouraging others is one of the most powerful ministries we can have. It is a major part of spiritual warfare (See Hebrews 3:13 above). This is one area of ministry that takes so little effort for so much benefit. Have you ever thought that your encouraging someone else might keep them from being hardened by sin? Your encouragement might make all the difference for them in dealing effectively with porn.

Look to the needs of a friend today and encourage them in the Lord. You may find yourself being strengthened against the deception of porn in the process of helping another.
