What is the measure of God’s grace given to you?   Practical help According to these verses, the death of Jesus points to two very liberating truths — redemption and forgiveness. Redemption was the price paid to gain freedom for a slave. Jesus’ blood is the ransom money that gained our release from slavery to sin — even porn. Forgiveness is granted to us on the basis of the shedding of Jesus’ blood — He died as the perfect and final sacrifice. It’s all done, and it’s yours if you are trusting in Jesus. So what’s grace? It’s the loving favor that God voluntarily gives to needy people like you and me. Without it no person can be redeemed or forgiven. We can’t earn it, nor do we deserve it. God just gives it because He loves us and is merciful. This passage tells us that He lavished it — dumped a heaping portion of it on us! It’s measureless and without God’s grace, we could never be redeemed or forgiven. If you are trusting in Jesus today for your salvation, then you have been dumped on — with God’s abundant grace.
