Practical
help
As Christians we battle
against the powerful evil forces of Satan and the
demonic hosts. Our enemy is a vicious fighter, and he
is constantly seeking to destroy us (1 Peter 5:8)! To
face his attacks we must depend on Gods strength
and stand strong by using every piece of His armor
made available to us in Christ.
We stand firm then, with
immovable resolve knowing that God in us is greater
than our enemy. So, put His armor on for todays
battle:
First, gird your loins with
truth. Why? Because truth renews our minds and helps
us to think more clearly (Romans 12:1-2). Truth also
sets us free from the deception of Satans lies
(John 8:32).
Second, put on the breastplate
of righteousness. This isnt talking about our
own righteousness but about the righteousness of Jesus
that is made ours through faith. Satan has nothing on
Jesus and because we are now in Christ the enemy has
nothing on us either.
Third, put on your gospel shoes.
As we share Jesus with others, we enter into the great
privilege of joining God as He works in their lives.
Nothing could be more damaging to Satans kingdom
than that, and nothing is more exciting than watching
God transform a life by His grace.
