help
According to Jesus the key
to true freedom from sin is in abiding in His word
— the truth. Here are some liberating truths from
God’s word to help you today in your stand
against smut.
1. You are loved by
God. Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates His
own love toward us, in that while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.”
2. He has saved you by His
grace. Ephesians 2:4-6: “But God, being
rich in mercy, because of His great love with which
He loved us, even when we were dead in our
transgressions, made us alive together with Christ
(by grace you have been saved), and raised us up
with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly
places, in Christ Jesus.”
3. Jesus has broken the
chains of sin in your life. Romans 6:6-7:
“Knowing this, that our old self was crucified
with Him, that our body of sin might be done away
with, (rendered powerless) that we should no longer
be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from
sin.”
4. You are not alone in
your struggle. Hebrews 4:15-16: “For we do
not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with
our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all
things as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore
draw near with confidence to the throne of grace,
that we may receive mercy and may find grace to
help in time of need.”
Let the truth of God’s word
— His love for you and all you have received in
Christ — set you free from the clutches of
pornography today.
