And take the helmet of

word of God.
Questions
1. Why do soldiers wear
helmets?
2. How is our salvation like a
helmet for us in spiritual warfare?
3. What does a soldier do with
his sword?
4. What should we do with
Gods word?
Practical
help
Head wounds are almost
always fatal in battle. Helmets are a necessary
protection form injury and death. The harder the
better! One of the enemys strategies is to
inflict a head wound by bringing us to a place of
doubt in Gods character and power. The helmet of
salvation protects our minds from the enemys
deception and lies. We know and remember who God is
and what He has done because we have experienced His
grace personally and we have been transformed by His
power.
The soldiers offensive
weapon is his sword. He uses it to defeat the enemy.
The sword of the Spirit is Gods Word. With it we
take the offensive against Satans lies when the
attacks are brought against us. When tempted
even by pornography we must trust in the truth
of Gods Word. It says
You are from God,
little children, and have overcome them; because
greater is He who is in you than he who is in the
world. 1 John 4:4
I have been crucified with
Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ
lives in me; and the life which I now live in the
flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved
me, and delivered Himself up for me.
Galatians 2:20
So when the attacks come today,
put on your headgear, and take up your sword to level
some solid blows on the enemy.
