Practical help
Have you ever experienced the therapeutic effect of the love of a true, devoted friend? The apostle Paul knew, firsthand, how helpful it was to have brothers (or, for women, sisters) who were genuinely devoted to him. He counted on them.
The "love" that is spoken of in this verse is that of deep, human affection. It is the "hanging around with," friendship kind of love. There is something healing and empowering about brotherly love.
Where do you find brotherly love, of the variety that would help point you to Jesus and away from involvement with porn? You will find it with Christians.
In contrast to most eXXit studies, today we are urging all of our eXXit readers to seek out, develop and nurture deep friendships with fellow Christians. Surrounding yourself with brothers (or for women, sisters) who love the Lord is perhaps the single most positive step you can take toward becoming porn free.
