Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the grave. 6. She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths are crooked, but she knows it not. Question Why is the adulteress unaware that her “paths are crooked” (verse 6)?   Practical help According to verse 6 above, the adulteress is unaware that her “paths are crooked” because “she gives no thought to the way of life.” In other words, she doesn’t know what she’s missing. It’s said that U.S. treasury agents learn to spot counterfeit money by first studying what real money looks like. In the same way, we can spot the counterfeit nature of web porn by first learning about the pleasures and satisfaction of godly sex. (The “Song of Solomon” near the middle of the Bible spells it out.) Think about sex (and other aspects of “the way of life”) described in the Bible, and you’ll agree that web porn is not only crooked but pathetic. Many people have studied up on real sex by reading the Bible and now stand stronger when tempted by counterfeit sex at porn sites. They’re cheering you on to do likewise.
