a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.

Practical help
There is no question that God intends for Christian to lead pure
lives. That is made clear in several places in the book of Colossians (among many other
places in the New Testament). Sometimes, Scriptures strategy for promoting personal
holiness is to condemn sin and urge godly self-control. Sometimes, though, a more subtle
strategy is employed. That is the case in the passage above.
Paul knows that Christian fellowship that is of a certain quality has a purifying effect.
When the emphasis of relationships between Christians is compassion, kindness, humility,
gentleness, patient, forbearance, forgiveness, love and thanksgiving - good things happen!
