Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: Colossians 1:21-23*

21. Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.

22. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation--

23. if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

Questions

1. Have you recently tried to resist porn's temptation and failed?

2. Did that failure make you want to bow before a forgiving God or shake your fist at an accusing God?

Practical help

Often, it doesn't hurt to be reminded of how you were, even if it might be a pretty ugly memory. If nothing else it can remind you that before you trusted God, your evil behavior had you convinced that He was your foe. If it reminds you of just how hopeless that was — how desperate a life alienated from God was — then that bad memory will move you in a good direction — back to a God who's your friend.

When you're doing battle with evil behavior, like viewing pornography, you'll want to count on a God who's your friend, not your foe!
