2. How does it apply to Web porn?
Practical help
The writer of this proverb would have poo-pooed the hippies. He thought we
shouldn't trust anyone younger than 30. If he had lived in the first
century A.D., he might even have pointed out that Jesus didn't begin his
public ministry until entering his third decade.
How do we know this? Listen to his message: Don't ditch the old standards to
run willy-nilly after the latest fads. (Loose translation.)
No wonder societies have always condemned pornography ... until ours. Now we
have mainstream movies ("The People Vs. Larry Flynt") and feature stories in
our newspaper of record (a recent Frank Rich piece in "The New York Times
Magazine") highlighting the industry.
The ancients knew better. They realized that pornography destroys
individuals, families and ultimately society. Millions of people — never
depicted in the hero-worshipping movies and non-judgmental articles — could
attest to the soundness of the old ways.
Take a pass on today's pro-porn hype.
